About Us

At LJ’s, we believe your home should be built and cared for with honesty, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.

What started as a small handyman service has grown into a trusted local construction and remodeling company proudly serving Whatcom County and surrounding areas since 2008. Over the years, we’ve expanded our services to include remodeling, additions, finish carpentry, rot repair, outdoor living spaces, and custom construction projects for both residential and commercial properties.

As a locally owned and family-operated company, relationships matter to us. We value clear communication, dependable service, and treating every project with the same level of care and respect we would expect in our own homes.

Our team is made up of experienced professionals who take pride in quality workmanship, problem-solving, and creating spaces that are both functional and built to last. Whether it’s a full remodel, structural repair, or a custom finish project, we approach every job with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to doing things the right way.

We’re also proud to be part of the local community. From homeowners to property managers, local businesses, and trusted subcontractor partnerships, we believe strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful work.

At the end of the day, our goal is simple:
deliver quality work, stand behind what we build, and leave people better than we found them.

Proudly serving Whatcom, Skagit, and Island Counties.

  • "LJ’s Handyman has done several jobs for us on our home as well as rental properties. He has always been prompt, finished the job timely manner, trustworthy and done an excellent job. My husband could do the work, but no longer has time. Lester and his team have always exceed my husband’s standards in craftsmanship and have always said excellent things about their experiences. I highly recommend LJ’s Handyman!"

  • "Excellent response time, professionalism, detail oriented company who provided quality work. Our project involved many tasks from all areas/rooms inside and outside the home (ie: crawlspace, soffit, paint, drywall repairs, decking, carpentry, etc) many times involving research to find parts. I appreciated that clarification was sought and that ideas for alternate methods were offered. This revolving project seemed to frequently need “one more thing”. Each time the request was handled promptly and with a “no Problem” attitude that created a trust and confidence that LJ’s could handle the issue at hand without any worry needed on my part. Great company to handle your project!"
